Description
Every year, during the Padres opening baseball game, the team invites the local military on to the field to present a massive American Flag, a sort of symbolic salute to the Military and what they do for the country.
Upon returning from our Western Deployment in 2002, our ship, the USS Bellau Wood, was selected to present the military in this honorific ceremony. Being one of the ship Photographers, I was selected to go and get images of the event.
When the flag was fully streched out over the field a random gust came under the flag and began to lift up from the center. Knowing it would be a great photo I quickly ran underneath and shot a couple of shots, this one coming out my favorite.
I hope you enjoy. BTW, this was shot on a Canon, with a 200 speed film, with a 28-300mm Minolta Lens. And of course this is a film shot.
